Electrical Engineer Bulqize

For our clean energy project in Gjoricë/Bulqizë, we are seeking a dedicated colleague for the position of Electrical Site Engineer, who will be part of the technical team and will be responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical works on the photovoltaic project.

We are looking for a responsible and organized professional with experience in supervising and executing electrical works, strong technical and communication skills, and willingness to work on a construction site.

Duties

• The Electrical Site Engineer will: Be responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical works related to the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of a photovoltaic project in Bulqizë/Albania.
• Ensure all electrical works are performed according to the approved project, technical specifications, work schedule, and safety requirements.
• Act as the main liaison between the project management team and contractors.
• Supervise daily electrical and mechanical installation activities on site for the Photovoltaic project.
• Monitor and report on the execution of electromechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and technical specifications.
• Inspect construction and installation activities related to structures, Photovoltaic Panels, inverters, transformers and electrical cabins, electrical substations and the 110kV line, DC cables and Strings, grounding systems, etc.
• Identify and report technical issues, deviations, or delays immediately to the Project Manager or relevant project leader.
• Review and compile “as-built” drawings.
• Prepare minutes for concealed works.
• Ensure electrical works comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
• Participate in inspections, testing, and quality control procedures during installation and implementation.
• Maintain proper documentation on site.
• Oversee and monitor pre-commissioning, testing, energizing, and commissioning activities for electrical systems and equipment.
• Verify that testing and commissioning procedures are correctly implemented and documented.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and commissioning teams to ensure electrical systems are ready for testing and handover.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other project disciplines to ensure smooth implementation and interface management on site.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives on electrical matters.
• Attend site meetings, technical meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings as required by the project.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to electrical activities.
• Provide updates on construction progress, risks, constraints, material availability, and resource needs.
• Promote and support compliance with the project’s HSE requirements and safety procedures on site.
• Ensure electrical works are carried out safely, with particular attention to energization risks, temporary power supply, and high or medium voltage interfaces, as applicable.
• Report unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, accidents, incidents, and near misses according to project procedures.
• Work closely with the HSE team to ensure all electrical activities are performed safely and under control.

Qualifications

• Hold a university degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience (Experience in Photovoltaic Projects is an advantage).
• Strong technical skills.
• Good skills in preparing technical reports; effective communication with colleagues and subcontractors.
• Initiative and flexibility regarding working hours.
• Intermediate knowledge of English.
• Experience in supervising or executing electrical works.
• Previous experience in solar PV projects, substations, power distribution systems, or similar energy infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• Familiarity with technical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable layouts, grounding drawings, and electrical schematics.
